Healthcare Artifact and Image Management Solution (HAIMS)
The HAIMS initiative will serve to provide awareness and access
by clinicians to all relevant patient information in and between
the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans
Affairs (VA). This data will include radiological Artifacts and
Information, and will provide support for medical specialists who
use images and for low density specialists who provide remote
supporting services to clinicians who provide direct patient
care.
CPS provided core software and systems engineering services to
migrate two CPS developed commercially available medical imaging
software components to the HAIMS architecture. These included the
Medical Image Viewer (MIV) which will be used for the purposes of
viewing medical images, and the Picture Archiving and Communication
System (PACS) Integrator (PACSIntegrator). These technologies were
initially developed by CPS on behalf of the DoD and VA to enable
the sharing of medical image data between and within the
organizations. CPS holds commercial copyrights on both the MIV and
PACSIntegrator products.
